Late Woodland (ca. A.D. 700-1000) lithic assemblages often contain notched projectile points (Jack's Reef Corner Notched, Raccoon Notched) manufactured from exotic cherts, alongside triangular types (Levanna, Madison) fashioned from local materials. The co-occurrence of these types has been associated with a poorly understood Jack’s Reef Horizon, distinct from typical Late Woodland Newtown assemblages. Little is understood about the contemporaneity of these point types, and whether there were associated differences in lithic technology.
