Council on Academic Affairs. Minutes. September 6, 2007

This is the minutes for the Council on Academic Affairs' meeting on September 6, 2007. E. Kay Halasek and W. Randy Smith (the Chair and Vice Chair, respectively) gave comments regarding relevant updates. Professors Brian L. Winer and W. Randy Smith presented the proposal to increase the minimum cumulative point hours ratio for School of Allied Medical Professions. Professor George Valco presented the proposal to establish an Institute on Women, Gender, and Public Policy. Executive Dean Jacqueline J. Royster and Julie Graber discussed this proposal with the Council and it was decided that the proposal be tabled. Professors Brian L. Winer and W. Randy Smith presented the proposal to develop a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree which was discussed with the Council by Professors Elizabeth Lenz and Linda Bernhard. Professors Brian L. Winer and W. Randy Smith also presented the proposal for a Graduate Interdisciplinary Specialization in Folklore. Professor George Valco presented the proposal to revise the Italian major. Brian L. Winer indicated that for the proposals submitted by Arts and Sciences regarding the GEC modifications, there no outstanding proposals needed further action by the Council
