This Best Practices tool kit identifies research regarding practices that are considered promising, proven to be beneficial or "best practices" in the treatment of female ex-offenders on probation and parole. According to former director of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, Reginald Wilkinson, best practices range anywhere from practices which are empirically proven to be effective to strategies which demonstrate promise but have not yet been thoroughly evaluated.
