Council on Academic Affairs. Minutes. March 5, 2008

This is the minutes for the Council on Academic Affairs' meeting on March 5, 2008. E. Kay Halasek and W. Randy Smith (the Chair and Vice Chair, respectively) gave comments regarding relevant updates. Professor E. Kay Halasek presented the proposal to establish clinical/practitioner track faculty in College of Social and Behavior Sciences. Professors Robert L. Kaufman and Robert Fox discussed this proposal with the Council, who passed a motion to request Arts and Sciences Senate discuss, create, and forward to Council a statement of the principles that inform the establishment of clinical faculty. E. Kay Halasek and W. Randy Smith led the discussions on the proposals to create a Video Art minor, to establish Communication Technology minor, Organizational Communication minor, and Media and Society minor. There was also continued discussion on Centers/Institute Guidelines and the draft was decided to be close to being reviewed by the Rules Committee
