This paper focuses on how the Red Scare and McCarthyism affected public education in the state of Ohio. My research centers primarily on secondary education, as opposed to higher education. Through working with a variety of primary sources including newspapers, district studies, PTA publications and school reports, I have found Ohio's educational institutions acted in a proactive manner focusing on elements of democracy and Judeo-Christian values.No embargoAcademic Major: Histor
