Desarrollo de una propuesta para el mejoramiento del sistema de tratamiento de aguas residuales (star) para la empresa Wellquem de Colombia S.A.S.

In the present work of degree a proposal of the improvement of a system of treatments of industrial waste waters in the company Wellquem de Colombia SAS was developed. Initially, a previous bibliography review of the different treatments that could be applied depending on the activity of the company was made, the diagnosis of the system that had already been implemented in the company was made and the deficiencies of the design and assembly that had installed, the operation of the equipment involved in the process was verified to be able to be reused within the improvement of the STAR. On the other hand, a characterization was made of the water that results from the washing of the production equipment and the one used in the company's quality laboratory, identifying its main contaminants that do not meet the standard established by resolution 631 of 2015, according to the results it was found that it does not meet the criteria of BOD, COD and Fats and Oils. Based on the previous information on the characterization of the water and on the parameters not met, an improvement alternative was formulated which consists in changing the current chemical treatment, particularly the coagulant and flocculant for the clarification stage by means of jar tests, where the quantity of the reactants is varied, obtaining as a result 75% of removal being the highest efficiency of coagulant using as Aluminum Hydroxychloride and flocculant the ALW250 equivalent to a destabilizing polymer that acts as coagulant and flocculant with less corrosive characteristics and a high molecular weight.En el presente trabajo de grado se desarrolló una propuesta del mejoramiento de un sistema de tratamientos de aguas residuales industriales en la empresa Wellquem de Colombia SAS. Inicialmente, se realizó una previa revisión bibliografía de los diferentes tratamientos que se podían aplicar dependiendo de la actividad de la empresa, se realizó el diagnóstico del sistema que ya había sido implementado en la empresa y se identificó las deficiencias del diseño y el montaje que tenían instalado, se verificó el funcionamiento de los equipos involucrados en el proceso para poder reutilizar dentro del mejoramiento de la STAR. Por otra parte, se hizo una caracterización al agua que resulta del lavado de los equipos de producción y de la que se usa en el laboratorio de calidad de la empresa identificando sus identificando sus principales contaminantes que no cumplen con la norma establecida por la resolución 631 de 2015, de acuerdo a los resultados se encontró que no cumple con los criterios de DBO, DQO y Grasas y Aceites. Basados en la anterior información de la caracterización del agua y en los parámetro no cumplidos, se formuló una alternativa de mejora que consta en el cambio del tratamiento químico actual particularmente del coagulante y floculante para la etapa de clarificación por medio de pruebas de jarras, donde se varía la cantidad de los reactivos, obteniendo como resultado el 75 % de remoción siendo la mayor eficiencia de coagulante usando como Hidroxicloruro de Aluminio y de floculante el ALW250 equivalente a un polímero desestabilizador que actúa como coagulante y floculante con características menos corrosivas y un alto peso molecular.Wellquem de Colombia S.A.S
