Natural Organic Matter (NOM) cannot be completely removed from drinking water treatment’s plants (DWTP) by conventional physicochemical processes. NOM is refractory to biodegradation (xenobiotics) and can react with chlorine producing by-products (DBPs) which are hazardous and potentially carcinogenic [1].
