The main goal of this work is to present the least squares method to solve overdetermined linear systems, that is, systems of the form Ax = b , where A m×n , with m > n . In this sense, we showed that the resolution of these systems is related to the orthogonal projection problem of b on the subspace generated by the columns of A.
