Air Toluene Exposure and Peripheral Neuropathy Cases in Offset Printing in Sleman

Purpose : The purpose of this paper is to determine the relationship between toluene exposure at each work station in offset printing with the incidence of peripheral neuropathy. Method : A cross-sectional study was conducted involving total sampling of the offsett printing's workers who met the criteria. Results :The study found that there was no correlation between toluene exposure with the incidence of peripheral neuropathy in offsett printing in Sleman. Based on ENMG test, there were only 21.42% workers diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy from 14 workers diagnosed with neuropathy; and can be ascertained did not caused by toluene exposure.Conclusion : The paper contributes to our understanding of potential chemical hazard in the workplace, particularly in informal sectors. Should be concerned that there are many factors that could harm workers in the workplace, so that occupational safety and health awarness should be increased
