Approach of parents on the activities of public health care specialists in kindergartens of Lithuanian local cities and Kaunas districts

Aim of the study - to find out the parental attitude towards the activities of public health professionals in nursery-kindergartens. Objectives: 1. Opinion of the nursery manager on the activities of public health care specialists. 2. Understand parents opinion and satisfaction with the services provided by public health care specialists. 3. Compare parents' opinions about the activities of public health professionals in city and district institutions. Methods. The object of the research is the kindergarten in Kaunas City and Kaunas District. The parents of the children attending the kindergartens and the managers of those kindergartens will be selected by the survey participants. To choose the 4 kindergartens for research: in two Kaunas city and two kindergartens in Kaunas district. 4 nursery directors and 373 parents were interviewed. In the course of the study, four kindergarten managers‘ individual interviews and anonymous questionnaire for parents were conducted. SPSS statistical data analysis program was used to analyze the data. Results. The survey was attended by 373 respondents: 87 (23.32%) men and 286 (76.68%) women. It was determined that the majority of survey participants positively evaluated the work of public health care specialists, as indicated by 79.6%. of respondents. According to the respondents, the most influential factor in the quality of work of public health care specialists is cooperation with the parents of kindergarten pupils, 45.3% say it. survey participants. The managers assessed the quality of the services provided by the public health sare specialist in their institutions positively. They were asked to evaluate the quality of work in 10 - point system. This assessment ranged between 9 and 10 points. Conclusions. The survey revealed that respondents and managers were positive about the work of public health care professionals, but showed that these specialist should have higher workload (i.e. full time), and not half what it is at the moment
