Hypoglicemia Effect of Cinnamomum Burmnanii Infusion in Fasting Blood Glucose Decrement in Alloxan Induced Mice

Introduction: Prevalence of diabetes in the world and Indonesia is getting higher. One of the traditional medicines for diabetes which have hypoglycemic effect is Cinnamomum burmnanii. Cinnamon contains cinnamic acid and sinamaldehid functioning lowering blood glucose by increase insulin and glucose transport with glucose trasporter(GLUT 2).Objectives: to know the pharmalogical effect of infusion of cinnamons toward fasting blood glucose at alloxan induced mice.Methods: Research is a completely randomized design with the test subjects were male mice of Swiss Webster strain were 20 males who were divided into five groups: control, negative controls which were induced alloxan, group induced alloxan and infusion 2.6 mg, 7.8 mg and 15.6 mg cinnamon sticks infusion. Fasting blood glucose measurements were carried out after period of adaptation (days 8), after being given alloxan (day 10), most recently after being given infusion cinnamon sticks (day 30) using glucometer.Results: Data analyzed using repeated ANOVA with post hoc Tamhene\u27s T2 method and a<= 0,05, revealed that there were significant differences in GDP0, GDP1, GDP2.Conclusions: Based on the results of infustion cinnamon stick with a dose of 2.6, and 7.8 and 15.6 mg/day/mice per oral can lower fasting blood glucose levels diabetic model mice, although there is no significant and specific differences
