PENGARUH SUKU BUNGA DAN INFLASI TERHADAP NILAI TUKAR RUPIAH ATAS DOLLAR AS DI INDONESIA TAHUN 2005 - 2013

Tuti Sariwulan, SE, M.Si and Dr. Haryo Kuncoro, SE, M.Si. This research is purposed to analyze the influence of Interest Rate and Inflation Rate of the rupiah against the U.S. Dollar in Indonesia. The data used in this research are the secondary data, that type of time series data for 2005-2013 periods, presented in quarterly data, source from Bank Indonesia. The methods of this research are expose facto. The technique of data analysis in this research is the multiple regression analysis. Based on multiple regressions by using SPSS 16.0 SPSS software, the output has indicated the interest rate (X1) is positively and significantly affected to the rupiah against the U.S Dollar (Y) in Indonesia. While, inflation rate (X2) is positively and significantly affected to the rupiah against the U.S Dollar (Y) in Indonesia. Based on the test with respect to F significant value = 0,029 < 0,05, it can concluded that simultaneously interest rate and inflation rate have a significantly affected on a = 5% of the value of the rupiah against U.S. Dollar in Indonesia. Determination coefficient value that obtained is 0,404, was obtained having the notion that the contribution of the effect of variable rate and variable inflation of 40,4 % while the rest is explained by other factors that do not exist in this research model. Then the government is expected to futher increase its attention on the economy anymore, so the economic crisis we have ever experienced will not happen again and hope that Bank Indonesia has always played an active role in controlling the economic conditions of the authority specifically control the level of interest rates and inflation so that the level economic growth can increase.
