The study investigated 50 patients of hydrocephalus i.e. an abnormal condition caused by an increase in the volume of spinal fluid within the skull, Patients were grouped into four groups based on the etiology of hydrocephalus. A detailed history was taken and physical examination and various routine and specifies investigations were carried out. Functioning of shunt was clinically evaluated on the bedside in all the patients. Contrast shuntography was done in all patients. Isotopes ventricularography was done in those patients of congenital hydrocephalous and hydrocephalous associated with myelodysplasias helps in differentiating the type of hydrocephalus and also provided indispensable information about the physiology of cerebospinal flui...
