The study is an outcome of several years wandering in the Himalayas and experimental work in the laboratory. An attempt is made to consolidate taxonomic data of the family (Polygonaeceae) and with the help of personal experimentation of pollen morphology and epidermal study some of the doubts in the taxonomy of the family of the area considered, is cleared.
