The thesis embodies results of a survey conducted during 1980-81. The data collected district wise, besides disease severity it obtained fungicide usage, number of sprays before disease assessment and general condition of the orchard. The disease severities assessed by a standard key on foliage and fruit, revealed that all cultivars are susceptible to scab but differ considerably in severity. The most susceptible variety was observed in red delicious apples and reveals that scab is a potential problem in all the six districts of Kashmir valley
