The study investigates the Physico-chemical factor of high altitude fresh water ecosystems and the behavior on the life cycle of plankton, their productivity and on seasonal fluctuations, with special reference to Kashmir. The high altitude lakes such as Alapathar, Kounsarnag, Neelnag, and Manasbal are selected for quantitative analysis, but Dal lake is selected for both qualitative and quantitative study. Hydrological factor in correlation with plankton volume is also discussed. A seasonal quantitative variation in copepoda, cladocera, ostracoda and rotifera in four basins of Dal Lake is elaborated. It traces correlations of hydrological factors with Zooplankton density.and relates an annual fluctuation of Zooplankton in the study
