The study deals with the monographic study on Avitellina Gough and nematode parasites of crocidura species and Rattus rattus (the common rat) in Kashmir. The thesis comprises of 5 sections (A-E) with a total of 119 plates including 169 text figures and 78 photomicrographs. Section A deals with historical and taxonomical; revision of the species of genus Avitellina Gough and incidence of infection of the three cistode genera Avitellina Gough, Stilesia Railliet and Moniezia. Section B pertains to the histo-morphology of Avitellina Centripunctata contripunicata n. comb. Section C deals with a new variety A. (A) C. Kargilensis from a goat from Kargil, Ladakh and Kashmir.
