Studies on helminth parasites of some vertebrates in Kashmir:Helminth parasites of some birds in Kashmir.

The work deals with the systematic study of helminth parasites of some avian hosts in Kashmir. The study consists of 2 parts: Part 1 deals with some histomorphological of Raillietina (raillietina tetragona) common cistode parasite of domestic fowl in Kashmir. It studies the histology of body wall, musculature of strobila and some details of the excretory and reproductive systems of the cestode. Part 2 deals with the taxonomic studies of 29 helminth parasites collected from 12 avian hosts of Kashmir. Raillietina Skrjabini, Raillietina indica, Choanotaenia Kashmirensis and Echinostoma Coecale are described from common domestic fowl in Kashmir. Dicranotaenia coronula ashmirensis; Armadoskrjabinia Longicirrs are described from Anas Lacatyrhnchos, from common mallard duck in Kashmir. Drepanidotaenia Lancoelata; Psilochasmus oxyurus; Notaulus asiaticus and Typhlocoelum Sisowi are recorded from Anas species , the brown duck for the first time from Indian region. A new species of Hymenolepid cestode Mayhewia himalyai is described from Acridotheres tristis common Myna in Kashmir
