The study consists of two parts: Part I deals with the economic importance of family chrysomelidae and the bionomics of C.populi both under field and laboratory conditions. It covers the host plant material and method; life history of the parasite including egg, incubation, larva, prepua, pupa, adult, mating and oviposition, hibernation, seasonal abundance etc. Part II deals with the investigations on the control of popular leaf beetle. It studies the toxicity of insecticides to C.populi, contact toxicity of insecticides, susceptibility of sex to insecticides and susceptibility of various age groups to insecticides
