The production of second-generation bioethanol using pine sawdust involves pretreatment, enzymatic hydrolysis (EH) and fermentation. One of the most influencing factor in the cellulose hydrolysis is the chemical composition of the substrate, which is directly linked with the kind and conditions of the applied pretreatment to biomass. The aim of this work was to study the enzymatic digestibility of pine sawdust submitted to alkaline - ethanol pretreatments.
