Animals carrying translocations may present alterations in the meiotic process due to the presence of the translocated chromosomes. Several chromosomal abnormalities have been reported to date in river buffalo, analysing only the somatic cells, with no evidence about both the fertility and information about germ cells affected by the aberration.
