Support of family caregivers of chronically ill elderly patients post-discharge becomes more demanding due to a decrease in the average length of hospital stay and increasing complexity of care. Therefore, collaboration with family caregivers as partners in care becomes more important. The quality of collaboration between nurses and family caregivers depends highly on nurses’ attitudes about families in nursing care. This study aims to gain insight into which aspects of collaboration are associated with nurses’ attitudes towards families in nursing care
