Capillary Morphogenesis Gene-2 (CMG2) is a transmembrane receptor that shares similarity with integrins and it is thought to be involved in homeostasis of the extracellular matrix (ECM). The exact physiological role of CMG2 remains unclear, but cmg2 mutants retained in the endoplasmic reticulum are cause to the fatal hereditary disease Hyaline Fibromatosis Syndrome (HFS). Using proximity-dependent complex biotinylation (BioID) to map the intracellular interaction network of CMG2, we identified interactions that play important roles in cell-cell adhesions, cells- extracellular matrix interactions and clathrin-mediated endocytosis.
