Beginning in June of 2014, and escalating from September-December of that year, young people from Hong Kong organized mass occupations of its streets and digital spaces to interrogate its political system, relationship to China, and its political identity. Since December 2014, these protests have broken into several youth-led movements, which have continued to act in the city, in both physical and digital expressions of youth activism.
