In the field of structural dynamics, a broader knowledge about relevant phenomena that affect the dynamic behavior of railway bridges is vital for structural engineers and design code administrators. The knowledge might benefit in an increased understanding of e.g. the resonance phenomena, and in improvements of the existing design codes.
