Autoaggressive processes in thyroid gland - anamnestic study

This study focuses on autoimmune diseases of thyroid, which include Basedow's disease and Hasmimot's disease. Part of this research is an anamnestic study. The study was conducted via questionnaire, that was filled in by people, who suffer or used to suffer autoimmune disease of thyroid. People affected by this disease were reached predominantly via social media. The aim of the questionnaire is to find a connection between internal and external factors and outbreak of the autoimmune disease of thyroid. The results demonstrate, that high number of people affected by this disease underwent sudden mentally or physically challenging situation prior to determining the diagnosis or went through long-term stress. The study also points out to a large number of women, who were diagnosed with the autoimmune thyroiditis due to long-term use of contraceptives. Despite a large number of studies conducted in the past, no factor has been fully proven, which is one of the reasons, together with increasing number of patients, why there has been carried out more and more researches on this subject
