The bachelor thesis deals with the current state of eastern Moravian dialect on the area of the regional city Zlín. At the beginning of the work the term dialect is defined as an integral part of Czech national language and then its historical development is summarized. Further, the thesis contains an overview of individual types of dialects in the Czech Republic and their brief characteristics. The main topic of the bachelor thesis is east Moravian dialect. The work discusses its 1st geographical definition, 2nd division into dialect subgroups, and 3rd typical dialect elements. The following practical part analyses the transcriptions of the audio recordings of dialect and summarizes the actual phonological, morphological, word-forming and lexical means of the east Moravian dialect. The aim of the analysis is to confirm or rebut the hypothesis of the gradual decline of dialectical expression
