Czech translations of French poetry in Moderní revue (1894-1925)

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to find out how the Modern Revue contributed to the introduction of French authors and their influence on the Czech environment. In the first chapters I deal with the French literature at the beginning of the 20th century, describe how the Modern Revue worked and I also state the list of all the French poems that were published in the Revue. In the second part, I focus on the analysis, namely the poets who have been translated in the periodical, and then I briefly inform about the Czech translators, what translations they have specifically contributed and which poets were oriented to. In conclusion I will summarize the contribution of the Modern Revue to the introduction of French poetry in the 19th and early 20th centuries into the Czech environment
