The financial literacy of the population

The aim of this thesis is tomap financial literacy and attitudes to education in this area in different social groups and layers of population in the Czech Republic. At the theoretical level basic concepts of financial literacyare processed, as well as the factors that affect it and the reasons why people get into financial problems. The thesischaracterizes the general approaches and themes to address, monitors the role of the state in the promotion of furthereducation. The theoretical part of the thesis describes what typical features are present inthe education of pupils in this subject at schools in the Czech Republic. The aim of the practical part of the thesis is to find out,on what levelfinancial literacy is in specific population groups, and to analyse problems of financialeducation, and, where appropriate, to provide recommendations for educational procedures.As a basic method of the research,a questionnaire survey was used.
