Bueve de Hanstone et l'Anglo-Norman Dictionary

The edition of the Anglo-Norman version of Bueve de Hanstone, published by A. Stimming in 1899, has long been used for the linguistic study of the later stages of the Anglo-Norman language, especially for that of its graphical and phonetic peculiarities. Dictionaries have also consulted the edition of the chanson de geste for citing examples; Anglo-Norman Dictionary (= AND) contains 714 citations of the poem, but there are a large number of errors of different kinds among them. In spite of the fact that the poem is a mine of information on Anglo-Norman words, no research has ever been done for the entire vocabulary of it. This article is aimed at showing the lexicographical features of the Anglo-Norman Bueve de Hanstone, by correcting the edition, mentioning the errors in the entries of AND and suggesting the words and phrases to be entered as an entry or a sub-entry in it
