Teaching and learning social sciences today: a subject-based or a problem-based approach?

La necessitat de donar resposta a una educació competencial per formar ciutadans crítics i compromesos amb la societat del seu temps, fa replantejar l’enfocament didàctic de les ciències socials. Incorporar l’estudi de problemes socials a l’aula pot ser una bona estratègia perquè els estudiants comprenguin que el que aprenen a l’escola els serveix per comprendre el món on viuen i per prendre decisions fonamentades en el coneixement.Paraules clau: Ciències socials, competència social i ciutadana, problemes socials, conceptes socials clau, educació per a la ciutadania, valors democràtics.The need to respond to a competence-based education for the training of critical citizens committed to the society of their time implies a rethinking of the didactic approach of the social sciences.
