Chemie im Kontext (CHiK) is one approach to realize science standards in chemistry classes in Germany. It was developed and implemented by learning communities of university researchers in chemistry education and teachers, funded by the German Ministry of Education (BMBF). The implementation process was accompanied by several empirical research studies, e.g. on the perception of CHiK by teachers and students.
