「宗教的情操」の教育に関する一考察 : 宗教系私立学校の宗教教育をめぐる実践・学校選択・評価の事例から

The Japanese Ministory of Education, Science and Culture started including the word 'reverence for life'into the new Course of Study. This aroused hot arguments on education of religious sentiment. Some studies indicate that teaching of religious sentiment is very valuable for personality development under the today's moraly confused education. But others indicate that it is very dangerous because it might lead us to militarism again. In the Japanese history, there was the period when nation's education was misled by nationalism. However the good effect produced by teaching of religious sentiment should not be denied because of the history of militaristic education. In this paper I tried to clarify the good effect through observing the education of the private school connected with the religious body. As the result of a questionaire about school choice, student life and religious education, I have found some posibility for education of religious sentiment. The students mainly sellect the school on the basis of proceeding rate to higher education, not of religious character. But they positively accept the religious education. I consider that we get more posibility for ethical education through the more strict study on merits and demerits of education of religious sentiment
