Parkinson's disease (PD) is a progressive degenerative disorder of the central nervous system (CNS) and characterized by the loss of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra pars compacta (SNpc) and the striatum. Oxidative stress may contribute to the pathogenesis of the disease.
