This report describes the damage to dwelling-houses during the Kita Mino Earthquake of August 19, 1961. As this earthquake occurred in the mountain area and was not of very high intensity, the damage to dwelling-houses was comparatively small. Two types of damage were observed; one is produced directly from the vibration due to ground motion, and the other is caused by foundation failure.
