A methodology was developed using matrix solid phase dispersion, together with liquid chromatography with multiple wavelength detector for the determination of twenty phenolic compounds in olive oil samples. Under optimized conditions, the analytes were extracted using 0.5 g of olive oil, 1.0 g of Florisil as sorbent and methanol:water (80:20 acidified with formic acid 0.5% (v/v)) as eluting solvent. The proposed methodology provided detection and quantification limits in the ranges of 0.023 - 0.750 and 0.075 - 2.500 mg kg-1, respectively.
