Seven new azaphilone pigments named lenormandins A-G were isolated from stromata (fruiting bodies) of the xylariaceous fungus, Hypoxylon lenormandii. using preparative High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and their structures were elucidated by NMR spectroscopy, high resolution mass spectrometry and other spectral methods.
