Nowadays the environmental pollution is a great global enemy, being one of the problems that most affect the whole world. This PhD thesis focuses on the elimination of certain aqueous contaminants, such as fluoride or different metal ions. Nanostructured materials have been applied as innovative adsorption method to remove the aforementioned pollutants. These materials present a high surface area in a very small volume, being ideal materials for the treatment of wastewater.
