Add to ORKGIn the (Dutch) Building Industry sub optimal use of knowledge by participants during the design phase causes damage and failure costs, as well as it hinders innovative sustainable solutions. Therefore a design tool was developed to support design knowledge exchange between different design team members. Based on experiments in the period of 2006-2009 a workshop method was developed to support professionals, architects, installers and roofers, in collaborative design teams to share, use and develop collectively knowledge for innovative roofs. The set up of the final collaborative design workshop is explained as well as some results are discussed
