This part addresses the challenging topic of solving coupled problems. The increasing necessity to solve complex problems in the science and engineering community, accounting for all the coupling occurring at the different scales of the problem, requires the development of new ideas and methods which can effectively provide accurate numerical solutions in affordable computation times. The state of the art is discussed here as well as mathematical, numerical, and computational methods for solving coupling problems of multidisciplinary character, with an emphasis on coupling with electromagnetic (EM) and/or circuit simulation.
