The project POF-ALL, supported by the European Commission, was one of the major steps towards mass application of Polymer Optical Fibers (POF) in Europe. The two main goals of the project had been: 1 Gbit/s transmission over 100 m and Fast Ethernet transmission over 200 m ..300 m. One of the first decisions of the project was to set our focus on the 1 mm core diameter PMMA based standard NA step index POF (better know as Standard POF). This paper gives an overview to the project results for high speed data transmission on SI-POF. We show and compare the different modulation schemes and give and outlook for future improvements
