In the clinical population is, by far, the most prevalent personality disorder, accounting for 15%-25%. These patients tend to have a great affective, humor and self-image instability as well as pronounced impulsivity, self-destructive behavior and frequent suicide attempts. They are classically known as extremely difficult to treat, with frequent hospital admissions and readmissions, associated with high socio-economic burden without an effective treatment.
