Rural Arquitecture and the non-urban space

This paper focuses on the rural environment from various knowledge areas, trying to integrate concepts and characterize the "non-urban space". Engineering and Regional Planning areas already recognize the intrinsic aspects of “non-urban space”. Architecture and Urbanism areas focus on the rural heritage, its sustainability and valorization. Tourism enterprises in rural areas, as well as the rural ambiance and constructions, and the traditional knowledge area of “Technical Assistance and Rural Extension” are increasingly open to studies of many aspects of the “Rural Achitecture” as a basis of the environmental rural knowledge area. The “Rural Architecture” includes the productive aspects of the Agribusiness. Therefore, “Rural Architecture” must to be focused from a transdisciplinarity knowledge area. Studies about landscape and regional planning covering the “non-urban space” are conceptualized on this context
