Abstract<br />INTRODUCTION: The clustering of several cardiovascular disease risk factors such as<br />abdominal obesity, hypertension, dyslipidemia and disturbances in glucose metabolism has<br />been termed the Metabolic Syndrome (MS). The MS has been shown to predict<br />cardiovascular disease (CVD) and diabetes.
