The article deals with the mystical stream called Kejawen and its current form and impact on the culture and traditions of the Indonesian Java Island. The presented findings are based not only on the study of secondary sources, but also on qualitative field survey. As appropriate methods have been chosen semi-structured interview. Respondents (Javanese) have been asked about knowledge and their relation to the traditional Kejawen. Besides the interview, observation has been chosen method in the case of traditions and rituals.
