This paper analyses the literary and cinematographic language expressions in The tempest, William Shakespeare’s play, written in 1611, as well as in Peter Greenaway’s Prospero’s books, version to the cinema released in 1991. The performance of the corresponding languages will be analysed in their time and space representations. These narrative categories restore on literary pages through a magic word working as a reality founder. Such word finds instruments to transpose its creative strenght, from the pages to the screen, in contemporary cinema technical resources
