This work deals with a study about the influence of the compliant joints (bushings) from a McPherson wheel guiding mechanism on the static behavior of the vehicle suspension system. The study was conducted by using the multi-body systems (MBS) environment ADAMS of MSC.Software. In this regard, two specific models have been developed and comparatively analyzed: the compliant model, where the connections of the guiding mechanisms to the car body are made by elastic bushings, with six elastic restricted degrees of freedom, and the spherical model, in which the bushings are modeled by spherical joints with three degrees of freedom.
