This paper examines the use of a range of innovative methods to collect children’s responses as part of a wider evaluation of a summer holiday food and activity programme in the West Midlands. The issues of children’s voice and children’s participation were central to the evaluation design, and the article critically reflects on the creative techniques used to achieve this. The article concludes that, although difficulties were encountered in the evaluation, the use of multiple, creative methods in researching children’s experiences is a valuable approach that allows the collection of rich data. It also offers complementary insights and understandings that may be difficult to access through reliance on more traditional methods ...
