Since 1993, significant mortality outbreaks of Shrimps Litopenaeus stylirostris have been reported from grown out pounds in New Caledonia. This pathology, known as Syndrome 93, is responsible for acute epizootic. A sea bacterium, Vibrio penaeicida, has been soon related to the infection. To prevent this shrimp disease, diagnostic methods and dynamic studies of this Vibrio have been planned. The experimental infection model by immersion has been used. The bacterial virulencehas been proved by dynamic of mortality. Just the fall of number of haemocytes in circulationhas been identified as a sign of pathology.
