I am interested in ephemerality, decay, dying, death. The absence of things that were once there but aren’t anymore. As a dancer, I always feel it necessary to enact my research through my movement practices; but sometimes, that doesn’t make sense. I need a new way in. I embroider phrases on leaves and leave them in our landscape: a fleeting work of art left behind for nature (instagram: @leaf.me.alone.okay). Can this process be translated to movement, to things that don’t have such a solidified lifespan? I am looking at absence in design mediums, pictured here, Photoshop, supposing the ephemerality of the infinite possibilities that reside within what I make and how that resonates in how we perceive.
